About me
Margoth, founder of School of Oh Margoth, holds a degree in Arts and Acting, trained in Chile and Argentina. She studied at Duoc UC, ARCOS, and in Buenos Aires at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA).
Her relationship with movement doesn't come from dance, but from the performing arts and theater. Her body knowledge has been built through acting, body awareness, movement control, and her own life experience. From a very young age she learned to know and control her body as a tool to protect herself and get by in a school environment where she experienced bullying. Over time, that learning became one of the foundations of how she understands movement: with awareness, control, intention and safety.
In October 2017 she was invited by her friend Mónica González to a beginner Burlesque and Chairdance workshop at Burlesque Santiago. She never left after that. She kept training as a student and exploring Burlesque and Chairdance.
In 2018 she graduated as a Burlesque performer, making the chair a constant companion in her stage expression. In January 2019 she gave her first group Chairdance performance and continued training as a student until 2021.
After becoming a mother and following the pandemic, on March 8, 2021 she began a new stage as an instructor. That day School of Oh Margoth was born, while she was also part of the teaching staff at Burlesque Santiago.
On March 5, 2022 she held her students' first performance as a school. Since then, her project has kept growing, developing her own methodology that focuses on understanding movement, technique, body control and safety.
In 2024 she opened her own studio and also became co-director of Chair Festival, a project born that same year to bring together, showcase and strengthen the Chairdance and Acro Chair community.
On April 26, 2025 she held the first School of Oh Margoth Gala, establishing a space of her own where her students could learn, express themselves and experience the stage.
School of Oh Margoth is not a dance school. It's a space for training and bodily exploration born from the performing arts, where movement is understood, felt and learned. A safe place for women who want to discover they can do far more than they imagined with their own bodies.
Because for Oh Margoth, movement begins when the body understands.
